BASIC: Boston Impact Investing Workshop Event
We are partnering with our friends at Boston Impact Initiative (BII) to host an integrated capital workshop for the BASIC community. This is an experiential learning opportunity that will give you an understanding of creative financial tools to support for-profit and nonprofit social ventures, as well as broaden your view of how multiple stakeholders can solve problems together. BII will run the session using their Integrated Capital Cards, a deck made up of 121 cards in 6 suits that help match types of capital and transaction structures with startups, small businesses and nonprofits that are contributing to building regenerative and equitable economies.
BASIC: “On the T” - Don’t Look Up
We are pleased to introduce the new BASIC Discussion Club where we will be recommending a book, movie, podcast etc in the hopes to help provide some entertainment while you are “on the T” to work. The last discussion content of the year will be voted on by the community using the link below. We’ll then meet quarterly to discuss and share our thoughts. To kick off the program, we will be watching the film Don’t Look Up.

BASIC Movie Recap: Capital in the 21st Century
Like many of us, you may be relying on streaming services a lot these days. To put our streaming time to good work, BASIC is hosting a movie discussion based on the documentary Capital in the Twenty-First Century. The documentary, available on Netflix, is based on economist Thomas Piketty's best-selling book which examines wealth accumulation and its looming social repercussions.
